✨ Summary
Join our team as a Crater at PGT Custom Windows and Doors! In this role, you’ll be responsible for building wooden crates and enclosures, reviewing shipping notices, and safely packing large, fragile, or irregularly shaped products such as windows and doors. Your work ensures our products are transported securely and arrive in excellent condition. 🚀

🔑 Key Responsibilities
• 🪚 Saw and assemble materials to construct crates and containers.
• 📦 Place products in containers and secure them with bolts, braces, or supports as needed.
• 🪵 Build enclosures around large or irregularly shaped articles.
• 🏷️ Attach identification labels or stencils with shipping details, weight, and product type.
• 🔢 Count items to confirm compliance with shipping orders.
• 📝 Complete shipping paperwork accurately.
• ⏱️ Meet daily production requirements and specified delivery dates.
• ♻️ Work to minimize waste in all areas per MPS commitments.
• 🧹 Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work area; inspect and care for tools and equipment.
• 🦺 Follow all safe work practices and ensure a safe working environment.
• 🪟 Review product tags to ensure all specifications and options are included in final packaging.
• 📏 Layout dimensions on materials using rulers, measuring tapes, and pencils.
• 🙌 Perform other duties as assigned by the company. 

🎓 Qualifications
• 🎓 High School Diploma or GED required.
• 📦 1–3 months of related experience or training in packaging, crating, or a similar environment preferred.
• 💪 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• 📚 Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• ✍️ Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in small group settings.
• ➗ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and interpret bar graphs.
• 🏭 Previous experience handling various sizes of finished goods preferred.

🏋️ Physical Demands & Work Environment
• 🚶 Standing for extended periods of time.
• 🔄 Frequent bending, squatting, lifting, and manual handling of materials.
• 🪵 Regular use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• ❄️ Exposure to variable temperatures, dust, and noise.
• 🥽 PPE required at all times, including steel-toe safety shoes, gloves, eye and ear protection.
