POSITION SUMMARY:  

The overall duties are to provide assistance to the production floor by loading, unloading, and moving materials within the plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties listed below. 

Responsibilities

  1. Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to move baskets, materials, containers, etc.
  2. Moves and stacks 16-foot profile baskets with forklift.
  3. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or with forklift.
  4. Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  5. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
  6. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  7. Stack or assemble materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
  8. Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans the work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
  9. Operates a forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  10. Cycle count & maintain inventory of finished goods.
  11. Operation of scan guns for inventory control.
  12. Performs additional duties as assigned.

 REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

  1. Safety glasses and ear plugs are required at all times on the production floor by all team members.
  2. Steel toe boots that meet ANSI requirements are required for all team members working on the production floor.
  3. Proper clothing required per employee handbook
  4. Refer to Safety Handbook for other safety equipment requirements such as shoes and tools.

WORK CONDITIONS (NOISE, TEMPERATURE, ETC...)

  1. Exposure to temperature variation consistent with outside weather conditions.
  2. Hazards associated with working with Machinery.
  3. Hazards associated with using power tools.
  4. Hazards associated with being on your feet for long periods of time.
  5. Lunch/break times are at the discretion of workflow. All lunches/breaks are paid.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  1. High school graduate or GED is required.
  2. Previous forklift experience preferred.
  3. Must be able to read/write and understand the English language.
  4. Must be able to compute basic math, adding, subtracting, multiplication & division.
  5. Must be able to use/read tape measures, calipers and saws.
  6. Computer skills/knowledge of general computer operations.
  7. Able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
  8. Must possess a valid PA driver’s license and a working telephone.
  9. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to perform the essential job functions.
  10. Interpersonal skills are necessary in order to effectively communicate with co-workers.
