Engineering Intern I

MITER Brands is seeking a motivated and passionate high school student to join our engineering team as an Engineering Co-op Intern. This position will provide valuable hands-on experience in the field of engineering, offering exposure to innovative projects and real-world applications. As an engineering intern, you will work alongside professionals in the industry, gaining insight into the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge products and machines.

• Assist the engineering team with the designing, prototyping, and testing of new products and/or machinery.
• Support the creation and maintenance of engineering documentation, including 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, assemblies, and specifications.
• Help with troubleshooting and problem-solving of engineering systems and products.
• Perform basic research and development tasks, supporting engineers in data collection and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and production, to ensure product development is aligned with company goals.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for product improvements and innovations.
• Assist with prototypes, experiments, and testing, recording results and observations.

• Desire to pursue a degree in an Engineering major such as Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or other engineering disciplines.

• Basic understanding of engineering principles and a strong background in math and science.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Familiarity with 3D CAD software is strongly desired, along with other drafting skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
