Develops and implements processes and procedures to schedule production to optimize human and capital resources by performing the following duties.
Develop, maintain, and analyze, Assembly Operation’s master production schedule of multiple product lines for the full order horizon. Collaborate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Markets, and Materials Management to maximize volume to set capacity limits.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, and manufacturing leadership to determine capacity level setting of future expectations for product line and assist in taking proper course of action to meet all customers’ needs.
Monitor and actively pursue continuous improvement effort to ensure new system supported capacity calculations are accurate and performing as needed. Able to become subject matter expert of systems software and be able to effectively communicate with IT, Management, and key management issues, concerns or improvements.
In collaboration with Sales, Market Representatives, and Commercial Project Managers investigates opportunities to adjust orders, such as large orders beyond daily production capacities, to more effectively use Company resources (staffing, equipment, warehouse capacity, delivery capacity, etc.) while continuing to meet customer needs.
Works with Commercial Scheduler, Commercial Project Managers and Market Representatives to obtain advance information of potential bids that may result in large or recurring orders. Discuss strategy to meet customer deliveries and optimize manufacturing operations. Analyzes impact of such orders on production capacity and adjusts capacity buckets to accommodate large builds.
Ensures micro schedules are produced in the most cost effective manner. Regularly monitors manufacturing daily reports and micro schedules to take appropriate action to massage schedule forward or back to ensure assembly lines maintain appropriate daily capacity levels. Alert manufacturing management to upcoming spikes or large builds to allow manufacturing the ability to proactively accommodate overages to meet customer needs.
Analyzes options for continuing production when encountering material shortages /outages or equipment malfunction, notifies Rescheduling Department of changes to completion dates, and manually tracks released orders for new build date.
Supports resolution of issues and concerns regarding production schedules and plans, including the processing of rush, expedited or changed orders on daily basis. Analyzes and plans production scheduling operations and procedures.
Releases production schedules, prints and collate manufacturing task tickets for micro managed production lines.
Participates in cross-functional efforts to investigate failures in on-time completion and delivery of products or parts. Works with team to help research, develop and implement new procedures or processes.
Ensures documentation of work processes is available and updated whenever processes change.
Adjusts manufacturing production schedule to optimize resources and create more level production requirements, while maintaining all necessary completion dates.
Releases and helps ensure the release of glass schedules in a timely manner, including rushes.
With assistance from Production Control Assistants, coordinates activities as necessary to process rush, expedited or changed orders on daily basis.
Coordinate with IT and 3rd party vendor(WinIG and Fenevision)to help resolve scheduling issues, such as crashed batch files anomalies.
As needed, manipulate DAT files to change appropriate and approved file data.
