POSITION - Lead Maintenance Tech - Manufacturing Plant

LOCATION - Fort Myers, FL

HOURLY RATE - $36.00 - $39.00 

SHIFT - Day Shift - 5:00am to 3:30pm 

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and prioritizing calls taken from various departments to coordinate personnel in the organizing and planning of procedures, set-ups, installation and repairing of production equipment and special purpose machines, including equipment’s electrical supply lines and circuits, electrical/electronic controls, piping and tubing, pneumatic controls and systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Works with department Leaders to delegate the activities of Maintenance Mechanics to optimize response times and resolve issues, set schedules.
  • Upon diagnoses from mechanics, makes and determines complexity, refers complex situations and lengthy machine downtimes to Supervisors and higher supervision.
  • Administers general preventative maintenance duties. Utilizing the CMMS system, establishes guidelines for equipment, assessment and scheduled service.
  • Oversees and delegates assignment of duties for diagnosing troubleshooting, determining the extent of repairs, determining estimated labor time for outside repairs, or making the necessary repairs and adjustments as efficiently as possible.
  • Meets with Supervisors to determine daily and weekly work priorities and adjusts work activities accordingly.
  • Attending meetings when the Supervisor is not present. Serves as department contact when Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Relays and shares information with employees and other departments in a timely manner.
  • Schedules meetings with staff and attends meetings with other departments to ensure optimum communication.
  • Provides positive and negative feedback to employees verbally and in writing. Participates in annual performance reviews for employees.
  • Assists employees with difficult or unusual situations, making decisions about disposition of situation or the need to seek additional authorization for action.
  • Helping in the interview process of prospective employees.
  • Oversees and utilizes safe machine guard placement and protection for safe operation by production personnel.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS 

Must be a TECH III - with 7+ years of experience, high level of knowledge and skill level – will be expected to be able to train other technicians of lower skill level. 

 

  • Technical or Trade school degree preferred, or a combination of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. plus 2 years of experience in a maintenance occupation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of industrial electricity
  • Working knowledge of energy sources for each piece of utility equipment in assigned area (electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic, etc.). PLC experience a plus
  • Ability to maintain plant utilities (lighting, water systems, drain systems, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently when directed.
  • Basic understanding of schematics and blue prints
  • Basic understanding of various diagnostic equipment including but not limited to ohms meters, voltage meters, etc. Basic knowledge and understanding of power equipment including cut-off saws, demo-saws, drills, etc.
  • Thoroughly understand and follow all OSHA and company regulations as they relate to the maintenance field (Lock Out Tag Out, Personal Protective Equipment, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of critical Maintenance, Repair, and Operations, and Proteus procedures and requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
