Fleet Mechanic - Entry Level

We are currently seeking a skilled Junior Fleet Mechanic to join our team in Venice, Fl. A successful candidate will bring a strong mechanical and electrical background, excellent communication skills, eagerness to move into a higher-level position, and experience in a manufacturing plant. POSITION - Fleet Mechanic - Manufacturing Plant

LOCATION - Venice, Florida 

HOURLY RATE - $22.00 - $26.00 - Plus $1.50 for SD 

SHIFT - 3rd Shift - M-F - 8pm to 6:30am 

form  Repair and assist with all Fleet Mechanics. 

• PM services
• Vehicle component replacement under Sr. technician’s supervision
• Electrical system and lighting repairs
• Cooling system maintenance
• Perform basic diagnostics
• Assist mechanics with tractor and trailer repairs
• Assist with tire repairs and perform tire replacements
• Drive forklifts and non-CDL company vehicles
• Understand and adhere to all safety standards
• Keep shop and personal work area clean and organized
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Provide excellent Customer Service
• Other duties may be assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: ​

• Must have a positive attitude and willingness to grow in position
• Must be willing to attend appropriate training sessions
• Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team
• Must possess a set of basic hand tools and be able to purchase additional hand tools as needed
• Must be willing and able to drive a service vehicle to where a customer is having a problem and be able to perform light mechanical service as needed.
• Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
• Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems
• Must possess a mechanical aptitude
• A valid drivers license is required with minimal violations as required by PGT drivers policies and be able to at least pull trucks in/out of shop safely.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:​

• 1-2 years of automotive or diesel experience preferred
• Vocational or Technical certification preferred
• Good oral and written communication ability
• Class "A" CDL
